Motive Launches AI Dashcam Plus and AI Omnicam Plus for Fleet Vehicles
Motive introduced two new AI-enabled cameras at its Vision 2026 conference that combine telematics, dual forward-facing cameras, and on-device processing. The systems provide real-time alerts and automated reporting for commercial fleets. Early users report reductions in speeding and accident claims.
automotiveworld.comMotive introduced the AI Dashcam Plus and AI Omnicam Plus at its Vision 2026 conference. The devices integrate telematics logging, multiple cameras, and a Qualcomm Dragonwing processor for on-device AI analysis. The AI Dashcam Plus uses two front-facing cameras: one wide-angle lens and one narrower lens for license plates and occupant details.
An interior camera monitors seatbelt use, yawning, and phone handling. Alerts are delivered by voice or screen. Shoaib Makani, Founder and CEO of Motive, said the company began as KeepTruckin in 2013 and rebranded in 2022. It now serves 100,000 customers in construction, energy, passenger transport, and utilities.
Domengeaux, Chief Legal Officer at United Vision Logistics, said in-cab speeding notifications produced a 75-80% drop in incidents within months. He also described an alert that notified a driver of a stalled vehicle on a Houston interstate at night.
Jason Ramsey, North American Land Transportation Manager at Halliburton, said preventable and non-preventable accidents fell 65-75% after the cameras were activated. He added that dashcam footage resolved 80-90% of liability claims. Motive’s AI automation sends reports on driver behavior directly to fleet managers instead of requiring manual review.
The company states the systems are designed to reduce collisions through earlier intervention.
