Evanna Howell, a senior account manager for 23XI Racing, was arrested Saturday after a golf cart she was operating struck a pedestrian at Charlotte Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina. m. According to a Concord Police Department arrest report, Howell turned the cart into a gate in the wrong direction despite traffic directors attempting to stop her.

The cart hit a curb, struck Dennis Manchester, and ran over him. Manchester, 77, was taken to a nearby hospital with several serious injuries. His current condition has not been publicly disclosed.

County court records show Howell was charged with one felony count of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. She was released Tuesday on $125,000 bond and is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on June 16. Howell was wearing a 23XI Racing sweatshirt in her booking photograph.

NASCAR stated Wednesday that she had been indefinitely suspended over a behavioral matter. 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin, has not issued a public statement. Attempts to reach Howell and her attorney for comment were unsuccessful.
