National teams announce 2026 World Cup rosters as deadline nears
Several nations have released preliminary or final 26-player squads for the expanded 2026 FIFA World Cup. Argentina, England, the United States, South Korea, Canada, Switzerland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Morocco, and Haiti are among the teams that have named players.
CBS SportsNational soccer federations are submitting their 23-to-26-player rosters to FIFA ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will feature 48 teams. Several federations have already published their lists. Argentina included Lionel Messi for what would be his sixth World Cup appearance. Brazil listed Neymar among its forwards after his return to Santos.
England squad Thomas Tuchel named a 26-player England squad that omitted Cole Palmer, Phil Foden, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Harry Maguire. Jordan Henderson and Ivan Toney were included.
