Naval Review and Tall Ships Parade Held in New York Harbor for U.S. 250th Anniversary

The International Naval Review 250 took place July 4, 2026, in the Port of New York and New Jersey. The gathering marked the United States semiquincentennial with the largest reported assembly of naval vessels and tall ships in American waters. Vice President J.D.

Vance arrived on the flight deck of the USS Kearsarge with his children. The amphibious assault ship served as the headline vessel for the fleet. More than 50 U.S. and foreign warships participated, according to The Washington Times.

Over 30 Class A tall ships from more than 20 nations sailed in the Sail4th 250 International Parade of Tall Ships, led by the Coast Guard cutter Eagle. The Navy’s Blue Angels flight squadron performed overhead. Vance delivered remarks from the Kearsarge.

“So what I’d ask you to do, my fellow Americans on our 250th birthday, is to reject the two-dimensional view of your fellow citizens and reject the two-dimensional view of your country,” he said. “Our history is one of people carving a great civilization out of the wilderness. ” New York Harbor previously hosted the 1976 bicentennial celebration and the 1986 Statue of Liberty centennial.
