Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu revealed on Friday that he was treated for early-stage prostate cancer, with the malignant tumor removed successfully and no trace remaining. Netanyahu stated that the treatment removed the problem and left no trace of it. He is now in excellent physical condition after the treatment.

The cancer was detected as a tiny spot of less than a centimeter in his prostate during his last routine medical monitoring. Upon examination, the spot was determined to be an early stage of a malignant tumor with no spread or metastases. Netanyahu underwent successful surgery for an enlarged benign prostate a year and a half ago in 2024.

He has been under routine medical monitoring since that prostate surgery. Netanyahu delayed publication of his health record to avoid providing propaganda opportunities for Iran. He requested to delay publication so it was not released at the height of the US and Israel's war with Iran.

Since the beginning of the US-Israeli war on Iran, Netanyahu's health has been speculated on a number of times. Iran responded to the attacks with missile strikes, and soon after rumors began to circulate that the prime minister had died. Videos released on social media that aimed at dispelling the rumors did little to stem the tide.

His appearance in front of journalists, however, put the rumors to rest.

An MP for the opposition Yesh Atid party criticized Netanyahu's decision not to publish his health report, comparing it to the reasoning he previously used to delay his ongoing corruption trial. "'It is impossible' to establish a state investigation committee because there is a war.

'It is impossible' to conduct a criminal trial because there is a war. Now it turns out that 'it is impossible' to publish a medical report and report on cancer because there is a war," the MP posted on X. "There is so much benefit to the regime in waging an eternal war, and perhaps at the next stage we will hear that 'it is impossible' to hold elections because there is a war.

Not going to happen.

Israel's ceasefire agreement with Lebanon has been extended by three weeks. The extension follows fighting between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah.
