Nissan Announces Electric Juke Production at UK Sunderland Plant

Vehicle Specifications and Platform The electric Juke will be built on the CMF-EV platform, a modular architecture developed by Nissan and Renault.

Nissan is expanding its lineup of electric vehicles, which includes the Micra, Leaf, Ariya crossover, and Townstar light commercial vehicle.

Plans exist to introduce a new A-segment electric vehicle in the near future. This model will compete in the small electric car market. The company is also continuing to offer e-POWER hybrid technology in models such as the Qashqai and Juke hybrid.

Nissan stated that hybrid vehicles will remain part of its offerings. This provides customers with multiple powertrain choices.

At the start of Leaf production, a company representative described it as a significant milestone.

The representative noted that the Leaf was the initial electric vehicle in Nissan's lineup. This production underscores the plant's role in the company's broader electrification efforts. The announcement comes amid growing interest in electric vehicles in the UK and Europe.
