Nolan Arenado Reaches 2,000 Career Hits With Double for Diamondbacks
Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Nolan Arenado collected his 2,000th career hit on Monday night against the Athletics. The eight-time All-Star doubled to left field in the fifth inning at Chase Field.

Nolan Arenado reached 2,000 career hits on Monday night when the Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman doubled to left field against the Athletics. ESPN reported that the 35-year-old connected on a fastball from left-hander Jeffrey Springs in the fifth inning and received a lengthy standing ovation from the crowd at Chase Field.
Arenado is one of six active players with at least 2,000 hits, joining Freddie Freeman, Jose Altuve, Andrew McCutchen, Paul Goldschmidt and Manny Machado.
The 10-time Gold Glove winner is in his first year with the Diamondbacks. He owns a 280 career batting average with 366 home runs and 1,228 RBIs. He has posted a 739 OPS and 13 homers this season.
