Erling Haaland scored both goals for Norway in the second half, first with a header after beating Gabriel Magalhães and then with a low shot past goalkeeper Alisson Becker. The win advanced Norway to the quarterfinals for the first time.
Brazil had taken the lead in the first half when Matheus Cunha won a penalty, but Norway goalkeeper Ørjan Nyland saved Bruno Guimarães' effort. Neymar scored a penalty for Brazil in the 10th minute of stoppage time, but it proved only a late consolation. Norway coach Stale Solbakken made two substitutions at halftime, bringing on Andreas Schjelderup and Oscar Bobb.
Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti introduced Endrick and Neymar among his changes, according to ESPN. Haaland finished with seven goals in the tournament, tying him with Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappé. The result extended Brazil's streak of six consecutive World Cup eliminations by European teams since its 2002 title win.
Brazil entered the match winless in four prior meetings against Norway, ESPN reported.
