Norway advanced to the World Cup quarterfinals for the first time after defeating Brazil 2-1 last Sunday, Euronews reported. Erling Haaland scored both goals in the match. Haaland, a forward on the Norway national team, recorded a rap track in 2016 with teammates Erik Botheim and Erik Tobias Sandberg.
The three performed under the group name Flow Kingz, with Haaland using the name Lyng. The homemade music video for the song titled ‘Kygo jo’ shows the players rapping while pretending to tend a barbecue and jumping on a trampoline. The video has reached 21 million views on YouTube.
Norwegian DJ Kygo released a house remix of the track, increasing its plays on Spotify and attention on social media. Lyrics from the opening include the lines: “Haven't seen you lately, have you gotten lost? ” Later verses reference a Caesar salad and a shopping trip to the Bahamas.
Norway will play England in the quarterfinal on Saturday.
