Nvidia CEO dines with Japanese materials executives in Tokyo

Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang met Japanese semiconductor materials and components executives at a yakitori restaurant in Tokyo on Wednesday. Huang arrived by car and walked approximately 20 metres down an alley near Kanda Station before entering the izakaya, which specialises in grilled pork skewers and sake.

Guests inside reportedly greeted him with applause, after which Huang proposed a toast.

Meeting details Executives from major Japanese materials companies attended the gathering, according to the Nikkei. The South China Morning Post reported that the dinner was intended to strengthen cooperation with local businesses. The restaurant is located in an area popular with Japanese office workers after work hours.

A Reuters photograph showed Huang handing out bread to journalists outside the venue. Huang has dined with business partners at local restaurants during recent visits to other countries, the South China Morning Post noted.
