Oklahoma defeated Alabama 9-0 and Georgia beat Texas 7-1 on Sunday as the 2026 Men's College World Series continued in Omaha.

Oklahoma became the first team to open the MCWS with a shutout win of 9-0 or larger since Georgia Tech blanked No. 6 South Carolina 11-0 in 2002. Alabama was shut out for the first time in MCWS history.
Georgia scored four runs in the first inning against Texas, beginning with Rylan Lujo's two-run home run. Lujo recorded his second three-RBI game in the past three outings. Joey Volchko pitched a complete game with 15 strikeouts.
Texas has lost six of its MCWS openers since appearing in the finals in 2009. The 2026 Men's College World Series features five SEC teams, two first-timers in West Virginia and Troy, and one ACC team in North Carolina. On Sunday the field will be reduced to seven teams.
