One Nation support falls three points in July poll

Support for One Nation fell three points to 26 per cent in July while Coalition support rose three points to 23 per cent, according to an exclusive Resolve Political Monitor poll. Labor support held steady at 28 per cent and the Greens remained unchanged at 12 per cent.

The survey of 2252 people, conducted between July 6 and 11, showed One Nation's support slipping for the first time in four months. The party had recorded a five-point surge in June.

Personal ratings shift Preferred prime minister ratings changed in the same period. Anthony Albanese's support rose four points to 33 per cent, while Angus Taylor's support increased five points to 21 per cent. One Nation leader support fell eight points to 25 per cent.

Performance ratings improved for both Albanese and Taylor. Albanese's rating rose four points to 39 per cent, and Taylor's rating increased three points to 41 per cent. One Nation leader performance was rated highest at 45 per cent. Likeability ratings for the One Nation leader dropped sharply from 14 points in June to three points in July.

One Nation's likeability score fell from 16 points to eight points.

Policy views mixed Voters supported some One Nation policy positions.

Half agreed that many young workers are lazy, and 53 per cent said immigration settings are wrong. Concerns about the NDIS and poverty also received strong backing. A majority disagreed with the view that Australia would be better off as a monoculture.

Support for attacks on the SBS, the ABC, and the United Nations remained below 50 per cent. Expectations of a One Nation government at the next federal election fell from 28 per cent in June to 19 per cent in July. Expectations that Albanese would remain in office rose to 35 per cent.
