SemaforOpenAI filed paperwork for an initial public offering on June 9, 2026. The company said it had not decided on timing yet. The filing follows a similar move by rival Anthropic. Both companies' offerings, along with SpaceX's planned listing, are expected to rank among the largest in history.

Its CEO and a counterpart at Google DeepMind have said this year that a slower pace would be safer but that they could not slow down unilaterally.
