Oregon Attorney General withdraws request to delay Paramount Warner Bros. Discovery merger
Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield dropped a civil investigative demand seeking documents from Paramount about its planned takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery. The office also withdrew a motion asking a state court to postpone the deal's closing by 60 days.

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield withdrew a request for documents from Paramount and dropped a motion to delay the closing of its takeover of Warner Bros. Discovery. Rayfield had asked a state circuit court judge to postpone the closing by 60 days while his office reviewed the records.
The demand focused on documents related to Paramount's lobbying efforts, which were codenamed Project Warrior.
Withdrawal and statements Jenny Hansson, communications director for Rayfield, told Deadline that Paramount made clear it would not comply with the demand. She said the office decided not to let the company waste state resources on the matter and would consider next steps.
Paramount is run by David and Larry Ellison, who have supported President Trump. The President stated during the proceeding that Netflix would face consequences if it did not remove board member Susan Rice.
Other reviews ongoing California, New York, and the United Kingdom are considering separate actions to block the deal on antitrust grounds. Hollywood figures have also voiced opposition to the merger.
