A 4-by-4-foot reproduction of Kees Van Dongen's circa 1905 painting "Femme Fatale" that once hung above Jeffrey Epstein's desk in his Upper East Side Manhattan townhouse was listed for sale on eBay within the past two weeks. The artwork, which depicts a blue-skinned woman baring one breast, was titled "Jeffrey Epstein's Desk Art" and priced at $25,000 or best offer.

The listing included photographs matching the painting and frame visible in images of Epstein's office prior to his 2019 arrest and death. The eBay description stated the piece was a giclee reproduction, not the original that sold at Christie's for $5.9 million in 2004.

It noted that federal investigators had photographed the painting in Epstein's mansion and that it had been covered in prior news reports. The listing added that the item came from an auction of Epstein's belongings. "The Epstein estate sold it quietly through New Jersey auction house Millea Bros with zero mention of where it came from.

Someone figured it out anyway. That someone is now selling it on eBay," the listing stated. The painting itself sold for $275 at that auction. The eBay seller initially sought $50,000 before lowering the price to $25,000. The listing highlighted the frame as the work of Eli Wilner, the same framer used by the White House, and invited buyers to "Hang it above YOUR desk.

" The seller, based in New York City, did not accept returns.

by eBay The listing was removed shortly after the New York Post contacted eBay for comment. An eBay spokesperson said that upon review, the listing was found to be in violation of the company's policies. It remains unclear which specific policy was cited, though eBay prohibits the sale of offensive materials that promote or glorify hatred, violence or discrimination and requires a certificate of authenticity for high-value art items.

No authentication documents were provided with the eBay listing to confirm it was the exact painting from Epstein's townhouse. The seller did not respond to a request for comment. The original painting hung in Epstein's Manhattan townhouse before his 2019 sex trafficking arrest and subsequent suicide.

The townhouse has been described in reports as containing multiple controversial artworks.
