New Patriots Receiver Integrates Quickly at Minicamp
A.J. Brown joined the New England Patriots less than two weeks ago in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. Teammates and coaches noted his immediate presence and connection with the offense during mandatory minicamp.

Receiver A.J. Brown has participated in New England Patriots practices since June 2 after arriving in a trade from the Philadelphia Eagles. Teammates said the adjustment period has been short. Receiver DeMario "Pop" Douglas said Brown has fit in without disruption.
"It feels like A.J.'s been here since the start. It all feels normal, like he didn't just get here," Douglas said. Brown declined an early request to lead the stretch line on June 2. By the final day of mandatory minicamp on June 11, he was leading the stretch line.
Brown and quarterback Drake Maye connected on multiple passes during the minicamp sessions. Veteran safety Kevin Byard said the two players are already developing a relationship. Brown said the pair plans to continue throwing before most veterans report for training camp on July 24.
Wide receivers coach Todd Downing said Brown requested push-ups after a drop on his second practice. The group joined him, which Downing described as building mutual accountability. Head coach Mike Vrabel said he has enjoyed watching Brown's interactions with teammates.
Offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels noted Brown's experience at a high level in route technique and situational football. Byard added that he tracks Brown's position on the field because the quarterback often targets him.
