Pentagon Announces Boarding of Sanctioned Iranian-Linked Oil Tanker in Indian Ocean
U.S. forces conducted a maritime interdiction of the sanctioned oil tanker M/T Tifani in the Indian Ocean, marking the first such action outside the Middle East since Operation Epic Fury began. The operation occurred overnight in the Indo-Pacific Command area of responsibility without incident, involving a right-of-visit, maritime interdiction and boarding of the stateless vessel.
