PepsiCo Operates 41 Driverless Trucks on U.S. Roads
PepsiCo runs 41 fully autonomous box trucks across Arizona, Texas and Arkansas. The vehicles have carried Doritos, Cheetos and Gatorade since June 2025 with no reported accidents.
BenzingaPepsiCo operates 41 fully driverless box trucks on public roads in Arizona, Texas and Arkansas. The trucks move snack and beverage products between bottling plants, warehouses and retail locations. The Wall Street Journal reported the fleet size yesterday.
PepsiCo stated the vehicles have recorded zero accidents and reach their destinations on time 99 percent of the time after weather and traffic adjustments.
Tesla has promoted plans for an unsupervised robotaxi service. Public records show the current unsupervised robotaxi fleet is smaller than PepsiCo's driverless truck count. PepsiCo's trucks have run without a human operator since June 2025. The company cited delivery reliability and safety data in its statements to the Journal.
