PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Asian Tour form alliance through 2029 as LIV Golf funding ends

The PGA Tour, DP World Tour and Asian Tour announced a strategic alliance on July 21, 2026, that takes immediate effect and runs through 2029. The partnership will provide commercial and playing opportunities while creating a path for Asian Tour members to join European circuits. Officials from the PGA Tour and DP World Tour met at the Open Championship.
The PGA Tour and DP World Tour maintain a separate alliance that has not yet been renewed and already sends 10 top European players to PGA Tour cards. The new arrangement with the Asian Tour, paired with PGA Tour involvement in the Australian Open, marks progress toward a broader deal.
The DP World Tour previously partnered with the Asian Tour from 2016 until 2021 and stopped co-sanctioning events in 2022.
The fresh alliance is expected to feature at least two co-sanctioned Asian Tour events each year for the next three years. LIV Golf had maintained a relationship with the Asian Tour since before the league launched in 2022. LIV invested $300 million to create the International Series, which offered purses up to $2 million and produced winners including Peter Uihlein, Carlos Ortiz and David Puig.
The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia stated it will end funding for LIV Golf after the 2026 season, and CEO Scott O'Neil has sought new investors for 2027 and beyond. Cho Minn Thant, commissioner and CEO of the Asian Tour, said the timing supports collaboration.
"We feel the time is now right to collaborate with the DP World Tour and PGA Tour to enhance the Asian Tour for our members, fans and partners," he stated.
One day earlier, Canadian-based Mobii Systems Group sued LIV Golf in U.S. District Court in Miami. The suit alleges $925,100 in unpaid fees plus $209,531 in lost revenue for the remaining six events of 2026.
