Pinwheel Launches Wi-Fi Landline for Children Ages 5 to 10

Pinwheel announced the launch of Pinwheel Home on Tuesday, a landline phone designed for children ages 5 to 10. The device operates over Wi-Fi without a phone jack and supports only voice calls. Parents manage the phone through the Pinwheel Caregiver Portal, where they can approve contacts, block unknown callers and robocalls, and set schedules and time limits.

Speed dial and voicemail are included, with future updates planned for three-way calling and integration with Pinwheel watches and smartphones. The Spark model starts at $68 and comes in white, black, blue, and purple. The Classic model costs $79 and includes a retro-style handset and customizable stickers in pink, black, and white.

Calls between Pinwheel Home devices are free through the Pinwheel Circle service. Families can reach standard phone numbers with plans starting at $6.99 per month for up to five approved contacts or $9.99 per month for unlimited calling. Pinwheel Home is available now on the company website and is expected to launch on Amazon this fall.

It competes with Tin Can, a $100 Wi-Fi landline that offers similar parental controls through a companion app.
