Pistons Trade Isaiah Stewart to Grizzlies, Receive Three Second-Round Picks Originally Sent to Memphis

The Detroit Pistons traded forward Isaiah Stewart to the Memphis Grizzlies for three future second-round picks on the second night of the 2026 NBA Draft. The transaction was reported on June 24, 2026. Stewart, 25, is under contract through the 2027-28 season.

He will earn $15 million in 2026-27 and holds a $15 million team option for the following year. He averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 22.7 minutes across 58 games during the 2025-26 season while shooting 55 percent from the field. The Pistons won more than 60 games in 2025-26 and advanced to the second round of the playoffs before losing to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Stewart finished seventh in Sixth Man of the Year voting and held opponents to 43.8 percent shooting at the rim, the best mark among qualifying players. The three second-round picks returned to Detroit were the same selections Memphis had acquired from the Pistons on the first night of the draft. Detroit had used those picks to move up and select guard Ebuka Okorie.

In Memphis, Stewart is expected to back up center Zach Edey, who appeared in only 11 games last season due to ankle injuries. The Grizzlies also selected Cameron Boozer third overall and Karim Lopez 21st overall in the 2026 draft. Stewart was originally selected by Detroit with the 16th overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft and had been the team's longest-tenured player.
