A video showing a verbal exchange between a player and the head coach circulated online after the team's 100-84 loss on May 30. The footage captured the two exchanging words in a huddle before the coach directed the player off the bench and asked another player to take the seat. Two teammates attempted to calm the situation as the player shook her head.

Statements from both sides On Monday both the player and coach stated the exchange was not a significant issue. " The player added that no one in the locker room or on the coaching staff viewed the moment as unusual. a lot of those things happen all the time," the player said. The coach stated the moment ended immediately and could not be controlled once shared online. "As far as we were concerned, the moment died right then. It's just we can't control the outside narrative," the coach said.

" The coach described the relationship as positive and said such exchanges are common in basketball. The team committed 18 turnovers and allowed 52 points in the paint during the loss. The player finished with six points, six assists and five fouls.
