Police Appeal for Witnesses After Stabbing on Portobello Road

m. A man in his 20s was taken to hospital after witnesses described three men chasing him and then stabbing him. The force said its officers arrived within five minutes of the call. The incident occurred in front of restaurant tables in the West London neighbourhood.

One witness told GB News that the victim staggered away from the assailants before collapsing in the road. Police taped off the area and asked diners to remain inside while officers cleared the scene.

In a statement, the Met said no arrests had been made and that enquiries were ongoing. The force declined to release descriptions of the suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 and quote CAD 7352/25May. The stabbing took place about an hour after a 15-year-old boy was pronounced dead at a house party in Hackney.

Officers there responded to reports of disorder and individuals carrying machetes, and are also investigating a possible shooting linked to the same event.

Police outside London also responded to knife-related calls.

m. The victim was treated for superficial injuries. Detective Inspector Jen Pietersen of Brighton CID said the beach was crowded at the time and urged anyone who saw the incident to come forward. Parliament Hill lido in North London was closed until Wednesday after reports of a fight involving a vodka bottle and knives.
