Police Investigate Attempted Break-In at Lamine Yamal’s Barcelona Property

An attempted robbery took place at Lamine Yamal's £9.5 million property on the outskirts of Barcelona after Spain defeated France 2-0 in the World Cup semi-final, GB News reported. Yamal earned a penalty during the match, which his girlfriend Ines Garcia Santos watched from the stands. Two hooded individuals were seen perched on a wall surrounding the property.

Yamal's private security team activated emergency protocols after spotting the intruders on surveillance cameras, and the pair fled the scene. Catalan police arrived at the address and opened an investigation into attempted robbery with force. Officers obtained images of the suspects from the property's cameras, and the Criminal Investigation Division is now examining the CCTV footage to identify them.

The mansion was previously owned by Gerard Pique and Shakira before their 2022 separation. Yamal had filmed a video tour of the property before departing for the World Cup. The incident follows burglaries at the homes of two other Barcelona players in February.

Pau Cubarsi had an expensive watch stolen, and cash and jewellery were taken from Joan Garcia's residence. Spain extended an unbeaten sequence to 37 consecutive matches across all competitions with the victory. The team will face the winners of the England versus Argentina semi-final in New Jersey.
