Poll Shows Decline in Trump's Approval Among Republicans

A national poll conducted by Issues & Insights/TIPP, published on April 7, 2026, shows a decline in President Donald Trump's favorability and job approval among Republicans. The survey found Trump's favorability rating at 77% among Republicans, down from 81% in a previous poll released on March 4, 2026. His job approval rating registered at 76%, compared to 80% in the earlier survey.

Issues & Insights/TIPP has been ranked among the most accurate pollsters by third-party analysts, based on how its results aligned with final election outcomes in past elections. The declines represent a 4 percentage point drop in both metrics from the March survey to the April survey. Overall Republican support for Trump remains above historical averages for presidents within their party.

The polling occurs as the administration addresses the Iran conflict, referred to in statements as Operation Epic Fury, and domestic issues including economic concerns.
