Bagley said he witnessed Kirk’s killing on September 10 while the activist spoke to a crowd of thousands.
Kirk’s parents, Robert and Kathryn Kirk, his widow Erika Kirk, and Donald Trump Jr. attended the hearing. Robinson’s parents were also present. Robinson appeared in a gray suit with his wrists shackled to a chain around his waist and has not yet entered a plea.
Prosecutors aired new video that investigators believe showed Robinson getting in and out of his vehicle on September 10 and 11. Utah State Bureau of Investigations Agent David Hull described additional videos that depicted the crowd, Kirk interacting with spectators, the moment he was shot, and security administering first aid.
Defense attorney Kathryn Nester asked Bagley about an empty pistol holster found on the ground after the crowd fled.
Judge Tony Graf blocked introduction of a compilation of surveillance videos from Utah Valley University because some had been altered. Prosecutors said they plan to present DNA evidence linking Robinson to the suspected murder weapon, autopsy findings, witness statements, and video of the killing.
