Premier League Clubs Win All Europa and Conference League Knockout Ties Over Two Seasons

Premier League clubs recorded 21 victories in 21 knockout ties in the Europa League and Conference League over the past two seasons. The only defeats suffered by Premier League sides came against other English clubs. The league's broadcast revenue reached £1.37 billion per season.

The combined revenue of La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 is estimated at the same total. Fifteen of the 20 Premier League clubs appear in the 2026 Deloitte Money League top 30. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris St-Germain occupy the top four positions.

Palace reported £197 million in revenue before defeating Rayo Vallecano, which reported £52 million, 1-0 in the Conference League final. Aston Villa reported £392 million before defeating Freiburg, which reported £141 million, 3-0 in the Europa League final.

Football finance expert Kieran Maguire stated that even Championship clubs Leeds, Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton generated more revenue than Rayo Vallecano in 2024-25.

League clubs reached the top eight of this season's Champions League table five times. In the knockout rounds, eight of nine English teams over two seasons were eliminated by one of the four highest-revenue clubs. Arsenal will face Paris St-Germain in the Champions League final after eliminating Bayer Leverkusen, Sporting CP and Atletico Madrid.

New squad cost ratio rules take effect in July. The nine Premier League clubs in European competition may spend up to 70 percent of revenue on squad costs under Uefa limits. The player later made his Brazil debut and was named to the national squad for the World Cup.

The Europa League next season will include AC Milan, Juventus, Benfica and Bayer Leverkusen. Sunderland and Bournemouth will also compete, joined by Crystal Palace as defending Conference League champions.
