A data analysis of the 2025-26 Premier League season identified one standout stylistic trait for each of the 20 teams. The review used phase-of-play metrics to measure how teams performed in specific tactical situations rather than overall results.

Arsenal allowed the fewest goals in the league. The team recorded bottom-three win rates for opponents in buildup, progression, and finishing phases. Arsenal also faced the most counterattacks among all teams.

Manchester City led the league in take-ons and progressive carries. The squad added several players known for dribbling ability, including Jérémy Doku, Matheus Nunes, Rayan Aït-Nouri, Tijjani Reijnders, Rayan Cherki, and Antoine Semenyo. City recorded the highest number of passes and the highest field tilt.

Manchester United showed the largest improvement in team ratings since last fall. The team split its matches across multiple tactical styles. Under Michael Carrick, United reduced its use of bunker-and-counter play and increased press-and-possess sequences.

Aston Villa spent less time in high-ball situations than any team except Manchester City. The side recorded the third-fewest expected goals conceded in transition. Villa applied limited pressure after losing possession.

Liverpool led the league in progressive passes and passes into the penalty area. The team recorded the highest success rate in winning the progression phase during organized possession. Liverpool finished fewer of its attacking sequences than several other clubs.

Bournemouth spent the most time in loose-ball and high-ball situations. The team ranked in the top three for direct buildups, high tempo, and high pressing. These patterns produced the highest chaos tendency score in the league.

Brighton recorded a 67 percent success rate in winning buildups. The figure exceeded the rates posted by Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City. The team maintained high success rates despite widespread man-to-man pressing across the league.

Brentford generated the most expected goals from set pieces. The club promoted its set-piece coach to manager before the season.
