Record cited The prime minister stated that NHS waiting lists recorded their largest drop in 17 years in the most recent weekly data. The prime minister also said the United Kingdom currently shows the highest growth rate among G7 countries.
Defence spending The prime minister confirmed that defence spending rose from 2.3 per cent to 2.6 per cent of national income last year. The increase marks the largest percentage-point rise since the 1980s and commits £270 billion to defence over the current parliament.
The prime minister said further increases are planned and that funds will be reallocated from other departments. A new defence secretary is reviewing spending priorities, the prime minister added.
