Protests planned nationwide against ICE, voting rules and data centers

Demonstrations are set for the weekend of 18-19 July 2026 in dozens of U.S. cities to protest immigration enforcement, voting restrictions and data center construction. More than 70 events are planned for 18 July under the banner of a National Day of Action focused on immigration enforcement. Additional actions are scheduled for 19 July.

action A coalition of voting rights groups has organized nearly 700 events over three days under the Good Trouble Lives On campaign. The events honor the legacy of the late congressman John Lewis and include teach-ins, registration drives and community gatherings.

Last year’s edition drew tens of thousands of participants. Organizers said this year’s actions coincide with a Supreme Court ruling that affected the Voting Rights Act and with legislation that would restrict mail-in ballots and add identification requirements.

The president and founder of one coalition group said the goal is to turn participants into ongoing voting rights activists. A lawyer with the same group projected at least 100,000 attendees and outreach to a quarter million people through education efforts.
