Raiders Coach Kubiak Says Team Will Increase Workload for Running Back Jeanty

Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak said the team intends to increase the role of second-year running back Ashton Jeanty during the 2026 season. Kubiak made the remarks on the team’s official website while discussing the offense’s new personnel. Veteran quarterback Kirk Cousins is expected to start, while first-round draft pick Fernando Mendoza learns the system from the sideline.

Kubiak said the team will challenge Jeanty to handle a larger share of snaps. “We want to put a lot of pressure on Ashton,” Kubiak said. He added that the coaching staff will monitor other backs during organized team activities and training camp but plans to keep Jeanty on the field for most plays.

Kubiak compared the desired usage to Christian McCaffrey of the San Francisco 49ers, noting that top running backs typically remain on the field for a high percentage of snaps.
