Free-agent cornerback Rasul Douglas plans to sign a one-year contract with the Washington Commanders worth up to $3.8 million. Douglas, 30, played 15 games for the Miami Dolphins in 2025 after joining the team following 53-man roster cuts. He began the season behind Jack Jones and Storm Duck on the depth chart but entered the starting lineup in Week 1 after Duck suffered an injury.
Douglas started 13 games overall, missed two contests with foot and ankle injuries, and returned in Week 13 to record interceptions in consecutive games. He was targeted 82 times during the season and allowed 54 catches for 515 yards and three touchdowns.
Douglas also defended 13 passes, tying for the second-highest total in any single season of his career, and earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 14 after defending five passes and intercepting a pass against the New York Jets.
A 2017 third-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles, Douglas has started 93 games across nine NFL seasons with five teams and recorded 21 career interceptions.
