Rasul Douglas to Sign One-Year Deal Worth Up to $3.8 Million with Commanders

Free-agent cornerback Rasul Douglas plans to sign a one-year deal with the Washington Commanders worth up to $3.8 million. Douglas, who turns 31 in August, joined the Dolphins after the 2025 53-man roster cuts. He appeared in 15 games with 13 starts, entering the lineup in Week 1 after Storm Duck suffered an injury and establishing himself as the team's top cornerback by season's end.

Douglas missed two games with foot and ankle injuries but returned in Week 13 and recorded interceptions in the next two contests. He was targeted 82 times, allowed 54 catches for 515 yards and three touchdowns, and defended 13 passes. He earned AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors in Week 14 after defending five passes and intercepting one against the New York Jets.

Over nine NFL seasons Douglas has started 93 games for five teams, including the Dolphins, Philadelphia Eagles, Carolina Panthers, Green Bay Packers and Buffalo Bills. He has recorded 21 career interceptions and finished the 2025 season with two interceptions, 13 passes defensed, a forced fumble and a sack.
