The Boston Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles for a three-game series beginning Tuesday night at Fenway Park. Boston enters the series after a 9-4 win at the Cleveland Guardians on Sunday. The Red Sox recorded 12 hits, with every starter reaching base at least once.

Masataka Yoshida delivered a go-ahead two-run single in the seventh inning. Interim manager Chad Tracy credited the offense. "You got to tie the game before you can take the lead, so those were really quality at-bats," he said.

Rookie left-hander Connelly Early will start for Boston. 95 ERA and has pitched at least six innings in five of his last eight outings. He threw seven scoreless innings against the Atlanta Braves last Wednesday.

Outfielder Jarren Duran noted Early's rapid adjustment. "After what he did last year for us in the playoffs, I feel like he had to grow up pretty quick," Duran said. " Early's only prior start against Baltimore came on April 26, when he allowed two solo home runs over 6 2/3 innings.

The Red Sox are 9-19 at home this season and went 1-5 during their previous homestand. The Orioles arrive after their own 9-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday. Colton Cowser hit a three-run homer and drove in four runs.

Kyle Bradish allowed one unearned run over seven innings. Cowser said the win helped the club. "I'm not going to say the team needed it, but I think it's one of those things that is encouraging and keeps morale up, keeps confidence up, and hopefully (we'll) continue to build momentum," he said.

Cowser added that the recent results reflect daily preparation. "We were playing the baseball that we're capable of," he said. "Just all the work that these guys have been putting in relentlessly every day, we're starting to see the rewards now, and against some really good teams.

Right-hander Shane Baz will start for Baltimore. 48 ERA. He struck out a season-high nine batters over seven one-run innings against the Tampa Bay Rays last Tuesday and has allowed one run or fewer in each of his last two starts.

64 ERA in five career starts against Boston. The Orioles recorded their seventh win of a 10-game homestand with Sunday's victory. Isiah Kiner-Falefa enters the series on a seven-game hitting streak for Boston.

Caleb Durbin tripled and recorded his second straight multi-RBI game in Sunday's win. Left-hander Garrett Crochet remains sidelined with left lat tightness.
