Red Sox Edge Orioles 6-5, Ending Baltimore's Seven-Game Streak

The Red Sox overcame three deficits to defeat the Orioles 6-5 on Monday night and extend their winning streak to 14 games, ESPN reported. Caleb Durbin hit a tiebreaking home run over the Green Monster with two outs in the eighth inning on a 1-0 cutter from Tyler Wells.
Aroldis Chapman recorded his 22nd save of the season when Tyler O'Neill lined out to shortstop with runners on second and third to end the contest. It was Chapman's 389th career save, ranking him 10th since the statistic became official in 1969 and leaving him one short of Dennis Eckersley's total of 390. Durbin was acquired by the Red Sox in an offseason trade with the Milwaukee Brewers.
He said after the game that he wanted to make history with the team but had not discussed the streak with teammates. First baseman Willson Contreras said the players were focused on maintaining their approach each day. The Red Sox improved to 19-2 over their past 21 games, the best mark in MLB since June 25, 2026.
Through June 24 they had stood at 32-46. They are the first team to win 14 straight games since the Milwaukee Brewers in August 2025. The Orioles' season-best streak ended at seven games. A Boston team led by Ted Williams set the club record with a 15-game winning streak in 1946.
