The Boston Red Sox have won nine straight games after entering July 1 with a record 11 games under .500. ESPN reported that the deal sent Paul George and draft picks to the Celtics. 500 and in last place in the American League East after a loss to the Washington Nationals.
Boston had July 2 off before starting a nine-game road trip that carried through the All-Star break. During the streak the Red Sox swept the Los Angeles Angels, Chicago White Sox and New York Mets while posting a plus-34 run differential. The run is tied for the third-longest in MLB this season.
As of July 14 the Red Sox hold a 14-2 record since June 25. They trail the Tampa Bay Rays by 10 games in the AL East but sit a half-game out of the final wild-card berth. The Red Sox are the first MLB team to enter the All-Star break on a win streak of nine or more games in consecutive seasons, following a 10-game streak in 2025, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
