Rep. Max Miller denied allegations that he physically abused his ex-wife Emily Moreno after photos purporting to show her injuries surfaced amid a child custody dispute. Moreno, 32, is the daughter of Sen.

Bernie Moreno (R-Ohio). Miller, 37, and Moreno have a 2-year-old daughter. The most recent alleged incident occurred on February 1 2026 at Miller’s Ohio home. An argument broke out when Moreno arrived to pick up their daughter.

Com. Moreno photographed bruises on her arms, elbow and abdomen the day after the February 1 2026 incident. The Bay Village Police Department responded to a report of child abuse on February 1 2026.

The department confirmed that an investigation into the February 1 2026 incident is ongoing. An earlier alleged confrontation took place on June 9 2024 at Miller’s home. Miller allegedly hurled a pot of boiling water at Moreno during an argument.

Boiling water struck Moreno on the chest. Moreno photographed redness on her upper chest on June 9 2024. Their daughter was present in the home during the alleged June 9 2024 boiling-water incident. Miller wrote a handwritten apology note to Moreno that day that did not reference physical abuse.

The note stated: “I don’t know what to do. I do know you love me, protect me, and care for me. I failed to do that for you. I’m sorry and I just want to close my eyes and wake up and everything be normal.

I know that won’t happen. I’m sorry I failed you and [their daughter]. It’s eating me alive. I love you, even if you think I don’t. I love you so much. I’m so sorry. ” Miller and Moreno filed for divorce two months after the June 9 2024 incident.

Miller posted on X denying the abuse allegations and included evidence he claims refutes them. He wrote on X: “The moral of the story is this. My ex-wife needs help. ” Miller released doorbell camera footage from February 1 2026 showing Moreno leaving his home with their daughter and later returning for their dogs.

Miller was elected to the House in 2022. He served in the first Trump administration in roles at the Treasury Department, as associate director of the Presidential Personnel Office, and as a special assistant to the president.
