Rory McIlroy Spends Summer in Newly Renovated Surrey Home After More Than a Decade in Florida

Rory McIlroy has moved with his wife Erica Stoll and their daughter Poppy into a home in Surrey after more than a decade based in Palm Beach, Florida. The world No. 2 golfer confirmed the relocation ahead of the Memorial Tournament, stating he spent the past 10 days settling into the property.

McIlroy said the family used a recent break from competition to complete the move. "I had a couple of weeks off and we got ourselves settled into our house in London for the summer," he said. " He added that he stopped at Shinnecock on the way to Ohio.

"A little bit of practice, then I stopped off at Shinnecock on the way here on Monday, had a look around and played," McIlroy said. " The comments mark the first public confirmation that the family intends to spend more time in Britain.

Spaun disclosed that McIlroy had told him during The Players Championship he was building a home near London. The property later underwent extensive renovations costing millions of pounds.
