Royals Activate First Baseman Vinnie Pasquantino From Injured List
The Kansas City Royals reinstated Vinnie Pasquantino on July 10 after he recovered from a fractured right hamate bone. Pasquantino missed more than three weeks and was available to pinch hit in the series opener against the Baltimore Orioles.

The Kansas City Royals activated first baseman Vinnie Pasquantino from the 10-day injured list on July 10. Pasquantino had been sidelined since June 13 with a fractured right hamate bone sustained when his hand struck the ball during a swing. The 28-year-old first baseman was not in the starting lineup for the opener of a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles but was available to pinch hit, manager Matt Quatraro said.
224 batting average with six home runs and 32 RBI before the injury. In three rehabilitation games with Triple-A Omaha, Pasquantino went 4-for-11 with three walks and one RBI. He said his hand felt normal with little remaining soreness.
"He set his goal really early to get back before the All-Star break, and he had to do a lot of hard work to get here," Quatraro said. Pasquantino added that he owed it to teammates, the organization and fans to return as soon as possible. The Royals also recalled right-hander Eli Morgan from Triple-A Omaha.
220 with four RBI in 18 games, and pitcher Jose Cuas, who posted a 0-0 record with a 2.84 ERA in five relief appearances, to Omaha.
