The Kansas City Royals defeated the San Francisco Giants 4-3 on Monday night in Kansas City, Missouri. Royals All-Star shortstop Bobby Witt Jr. left the game with back tightness, ESPN reported. Witt struck out in the first inning and walked in the third before Nick Loftin replaced him in the top of the fifth.
The same back issue had kept Witt out of Sunday's 19-2 loss to the San Diego Padres. 279 with 13 home runs and 39 RBI while leading the American League with 30 stolen bases, ESPN reported.
