Ruben Amorim Agrees to Two-Year Deal as AC Milan Head Coach
The 41-year-old is expected to sign this week after replacing Massimiliano Allegri, who was dismissed following a poor run that cost the club Champions League qualification.
The BbcRuben Amorim has agreed to become AC Milan's next head coach. The 41-year-old is expected to fly into Milan later this week and sign a two-year contract to replace Massimiliano Allegri. Allegri was sacked after a run of poor form at the end of the season that left AC Milan outside the Champions League places.
Amorim's first match, if the deal is completed, will be a pre-season fixture against Celtic on 25 July. AC Milan will end their pre-season schedule against Manchester United in Wroclaw on 15 August. Reports in Italy state that Amorim has said he will forego the year's pay still owed by Manchester United after his dismissal in January.

He replaced Erik ten Hag at Manchester United in November 2024 after the club rejected his request to join at the end of that season. Last month, sources close to Amorim distanced him from the vacancy at Benfica as Jose Mourinho prepared to leave for Real Madrid. Former Fulham manager Marco Silva has since been appointed at Benfica.
