US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met Gulf Cooperation Council officials in Manama, Bahrain, to discuss the US-Iran agreement that ended the US-Israel war on Iran, @AFP reported. Rubio said the United States wants a permanent deal with Tehran but not at any price. He stated that Iran should not charge for ships to cross the Strait of Hormuz and should never possess a nuclear weapon.
The remarks came after Iran launched unprecedented attacks against Gulf states during the war. The GCC is pushing for a bigger say in security matters and the Strait of Hormuz. Rubio told the officials that the Iran deal will ensure their security.
