Saints Coach Says Team Has Offer for Free-Agent Cameron Jordan
New Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore said the team has an offer for defensive end Cameron Jordan, who has been a free agent since March. Moore said Jordan is deciding on personal grounds and that the Saints remain open to his return.
yardbarker.comNew Orleans Saints head coach Kellen Moore told reporters Wednesday that the team has an offer on the table for defensive end Cameron Jordan. Moore said Jordan, who turns 37 in July, is weighing the decision on personal grounds. He added that the Saints are prepared to assist Jordan if he chooses to return.
"Contract offer available. Cam's kind of navigating this thing on the personal side," Moore said, according to Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk. "We know what he means to this organization, this city.
So, if the opportunity presents itself and he feels comfortable and ready to go, we'll be ready to rock and roll. Last season he recorded 10.5 sacks in 17 games.
Moore noted that Jordan has earned the right to take time with his decision and that the team has no set deadline before training camp begins in July. Jordan had previously stated he wanted to be valued either by the Saints or another club. Reports have linked him to the Kansas City Chiefs, while the San Francisco 49ers and Philadelphia Eagles have also been mentioned as possible suitors.
