Samsung announced a new non-Pro 990 SSD model. Engadget reported that the drive carries a 1TB price of $270 and a 2TB price of $530. Those figures exceed the original 2022 990 Pro pricing of $179 for 1TB and $309 for 2TB.

The 2026 990 Pro models now list at $320 for 1TB and $640 for 2TB. Sequential read speeds on the new 990 reach 7,250 MB/s and write speeds reach 6,450 MB/s. Random performance is rated at 850K IOPS read and 1,200K IOPS write.

Its random ratings were 1,400K IOPS read and 1,550K IOPS write. Samsung introduced the 990 Pro series in 2022.
