Samsung Foundry reaches tape-out on Tesla AI5 chip at 2nm process

Samsung Foundry completed tape-out of a chip developed with Tesla for use in the company's next products. The design uses Samsung's 2nm manufacturing process and is slated for production at the Taylor, Texas facility. A company statement said the milestone keeps the project on schedule.

Volume production is not expected to begin immediately. The announcement provides an update on a collaboration between the two companies that has been under way for several quarters.
