CBS terminated Scott Pelley's contract with 60 Minutes after a dispute with the program's new executive producer, Nick Bilton. The termination followed an explosive staff meeting in which Pelley, a correspondent for the long-running Sunday news show, blasted both Bilton and CBS editor in chief Bari Weiss.

Pelley accused Weiss of “murdering” 60 Minutes during the meeting, according to The New York Times.

Bilton was appointed executive producer of 60 Minutes before the confrontation took place.
