Seattle Seahawks rookies reported to training camp on Friday. First-round running back Jadarian Price projects to receive a heavy workload after Kenneth Walker left the team in free agency and Zach Charbonnet suffered a torn ACL in the playoffs. Head coach Mike Macdonald said Price will run wide zone and gap scheme plays.
Macdonald added that Price will also contribute in the pass game as the offense seeks to involve halfbacks more in that phase. Macdonald noted that Price is a strong special teams player who will compete for kick return duties. NFL teams rarely assign kick returns to a starting running back.
Price returned 22 kickoffs for 794 yards at Notre Dame, averaging 36.1 yards per return and scoring three touchdowns. The Seahawks believe Price will make plays with the ball in his hands and intend to give him every opportunity to do so.
