Usha Vance posted a message on X after The New York Times published an article examining the maternity dress she wore during a podcast interview with her husband. The dress, purchased for $8.75 at Old Navy, was described by the paper's fashion critic as part of a pattern among women close to the president.
The same article noted that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt and Katie Miller, wife of Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, were also pregnant at roughly the same time.
Podcast appearance The interview aired Sunday on Vance's podcast, "Storytime with the Second Lady." In the episode, she asked questions about children's books before the vice president read from a Winnie-the-Pooh book. A short exchange in which he patted her knee circulated online.
