Sen. Lindsey Graham Dies at 71 After Return From Ukraine

Sen. Lindsey Graham died Saturday night at age 71 after returning from a trip to Ukraine. Washington's chief medical examiner determined that Graham died from aortic dissection due to arteriosclerotic cardiovascular disease.

Toxicology and other tests remain pending. President Trump stated on Tuesday that the FBI is wasting its time investigating conspiracy theories about Graham's death. He spoke to reporters in the Oval Office after FBI agents were seen at Graham's Capitol Hill home on Monday.

Trump said he had reviewed medical reports and received a briefing from White House doctors. FBI Director Kash Patel said the agency is assisting local authorities. Two law enforcement sources said agents are investigating out of caution, but no new evidence of foul play has emerged.

South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster appointed Graham's sister, Darline Graham, to fill the remainder of the term. She is scheduled to take the oath Tuesday afternoon. President Trump stated that Graham's father had also died of heart complications at a relatively young age.

He noted that Graham had complained of back pain, which can be a sign of the condition.
