"I'm heartbroken to have to withdraw from doubles," Williams wrote. " Williams stated that her knee should not swell or collect that much fluid again.
She thanked Wimbledon tournament director Jamie Baker and All England Club staff for accommodating her schedule. The sisters last competed together at a Grand Slam at the 2022 U.S. Open. Williams has won 13 Wimbledon titles, seven in singles and six in women's doubles with Venus.
She largely stepped away from competitive tennis after 2022 while raising her two daughters, now aged eight and three. "All I can say is stay tuned to a city near you," she added.
